Start with the plant’s mature size, then check the container volume and depth. These are illustrative starting points for herbs and food crops, not tested Teral crop specifications. The same crop can suit more than one size.

1 US GAL≈ 3.8 L

Compact greens

At home: Leaf lettuce, spinach or a compact parsley plant.
Commercial horticulture: Potted leafy-green or culinary-herb lines, subject to a crop trial.

The smallest format in the range for compact crops and limited shelf or balcony space.

1.5 US GAL≈ 5.7 L

Room for herbs

At home: Compact basil, chives, parsley or leaf lettuce.
Commercial horticulture: Herb and leafy-green programmes that specify more media than the 1-gallon format.

An intermediate option with 50% more nominal volume than 1 gallon. It does not require a different crop.

2 US GAL≈ 7.6 L

A broader choice

At home: Compact pepper varieties, leaf lettuce or culinary herbs.
Commercial horticulture: Container pepper trials or larger potted-herb formats, with cultivar and system checks.

Twice the nominal volume of 1 gallon. Check the mature plant size and filled bag depth before choosing.

Ask about 2 gallon

Size is only part of the choice.

Cocopeat is growing media, not a complete fertiliser. Match the crop with a suitable nutrition plan, drainage, light and watering. Larger fruiting varieties may need a different format; ask us about custom sizes.

About these crop examples

The examples adapt general container-gardening guidance from Illinois Extension’s vegetable guide and herb guide. The 1.5-gallon option is an intermediate product choice, not a separate published crop recommendation. Commercial applications are starting points for buyer trials.
