Match greenhouse slabs to the crop cycle
For a tomato, cucumber or pepper programme, begin with the hydrated slab dimensions, plants per bag and irrigation layout. A useful sample brief includes the intended crop duration, gutter width and drainage-hole drawing. The same external bag size can contain different particle grades and material volumes.
Ask for a defined peat-and-chip structure and treatment, then evaluate a sample in your own irrigation system. Teral can discuss custom dimensions, planting holes, drainage and UV-treated film. Product selection should use agreed specifications rather than colour or appearance alone.
Keep nursery and blending requirements separate
A nursery buying coir for propagation needs a different brief from a distributor importing compressed blocks for resale. For nursery media, specify screening, tray or container size and the required handling format. For blending, record the expanded volume and physical grade needed in your finished mix.
Choose between low-EC washed coir and buffered coir explicitly. An EC number without its extraction method is difficult to compare across suppliers. Ask which test method will be used on the sample and supplied batch, and whether buffering is included in the quoted grade.
Quote for the province and final receiving site
Provide your province, postal code, requested arrival window and whether unloading requires a particular pallet configuration. Compare a shipment quote on the same delivery basis and currency; port delivery and delivery to a greenhouse are different scopes.
Teral’s supply enquiry is for production and export from India, with availability confirmed per order. Do not assume local Canadian stock or a fixed transit time. The importer should check current requirements for the exact product before dispatch and confirm the document list with Teral.
