Choose the format before comparing the price
Greenhouse vegetable producers can start with coir grow bags and slabs sized for their gutters, plant spacing and irrigation layout. Nurseries and growing-media blenders can compare 5 kg compressed blocks with loose 50 L media. Teral offers washed low-EC and buffered options; the treatment must be stated in the quotation.
For container programmes, express the filled volume in litres as well as US gallons. Teral open-top formats are 1, 1.5 and 2 US gallons, approximately 3.8, 5.7 and 7.6 litres. Larger blueberry formats belong to the separate BLU range. Select the final size with your crop team rather than treating all grow bags as interchangeable.
Compare cost per usable volume
A block price alone does not tell you the cost of the finished growing medium. Ask for net material weight, moisture basis, expansion method and usable expanded volume. Keep labour for hydration and filling separate from the substrate price, especially when comparing compressed blocks against pre-filled bags.
For a 5 kg block quoted at 70 litres, divide its price by 70 to compare material cost per nominal litre. This is a calculation example, not a guaranteed batch yield. Confirm volume by a repeatable hydration and measurement method before placing a repeat order.
Plan the receiving point in the United States
Tell Teral whether your quote should end at an agreed port or include an onward delivery proposal. Include the delivery ZIP code, unloading facilities and preferred packing format. Separate ocean freight, destination handling and inland transport when comparing offers.
