TWO VARIETIES / BY LOOSE VOLUME

Choose your blend.

Measure cocopeat after full hydration and draining, without compacting it. Percentages describe the ingredient recipe, not water-holding capacity or air space.

01 / BLUE

Air Blend

Buffered coir with compost, perlite and processed bark. A starting point for container trials where the specification includes mineral and bark components.

02 / GREEN

Garden Blend

Your 70% cocopeat base, with vermicompost and a small neem-cake amendment. Contains no perlite or bark; drainage must be assessed in the intended container.

Enquire about Garden Blend

Both are development formulations, not validated production specifications. “Non-buffered” describes the coir treatment: it does not mean unwashed, nor does washing equal buffering. No pest-control or complete-nutrition claim is made.

START WITH A TRIAL

Match the mix
to the plant.

Intended for trials with established container plants, herbs and vegetables. Fine seedling trays, orchids, succulents and acid-loving crops need separate specifications.

This is a soilless potting mix: no field soil or peat moss is included in the proposed recipe. Compost does not replace a crop-specific feeding programme.

Before commercial release

  • Test finished-mix pH and EC using a recorded method.
  • Verify compost or vermicompost maturity and hygiene, plus the specified coir treatment. For Garden Blend, assess neem-cake grade, stability and plant tolerance.
  • Measure drainage, air space and water retention in the intended pot.
  • Run plant trials and agree nutrition, irrigation, pack volume and labelling.

For a 100 L ingredient trial: Air Blend uses 50 L buffered coir + 20 L compost + 20 L perlite + 10 L composted bark. Garden Blend uses 70 L washed non-buffered coir + 28 L vermicompost + 2 L neem cake. Record neem cake weight for the measured volume so production dosing can be standardized. Final mixed volume may change; verify bag fill separately.

RETAIL / NURSERY / PRIVATE LABEL

Your range. Your brief.

The designs show proposed 50 L packs for both varieties. Discuss bulk supply or OEM packaging with the sales team; pack sizes, minimum quantities and pricing are agreed after the trial specification.

Ingredient guidance

Background on component roles and container handling: Iowa State University Extension — Potting Media: Components and Handling. A Kerala Agricultural University study also evaluated neem cake and vermicompost in multi-component media for Philodendron xanadu. Its crop-specific results do not validate the exact 70/28/2 recipe proposed here. These references inform ingredient selection, not a guarantee of performance.
