Why do capsicum fruit develop pale sun-facing patches?

Inspect fruit exposure and the history of canopy loss. Pale lesions may need diagnosis, particularly if they soften or spread.

THE COCOPEAT CONNECTION

Why the root zone matters

A healthy coir root zone cannot replace lost shade over sensitive fruit.

01 / OBSERVE

Three checks before you change anything

  1. Compare exposed and covered fruit on the same plant.
  2. Review pruning, leaf disease or breakage before symptoms appeared.
  3. Photograph early lesions before secondary decay obscures them.

02 / NARROW IT DOWN

Where are lesions located?

Choose the closest observation for a suggested next check.

Exposed side only

Review canopy protection and heat management for developing fruit.

Both exposed and shaded fruit

Seek identification rather than assuming sun injury.

Damage follows spraying

Review the application record and discuss possible injury with the adviser.

03 / TAKE THE NEXT STEP

Leave with something useful

Protect subsequent fruit through a measured canopy-management plan.

Keep in mind

Do not confuse all dark or pale capsicum lesions with blossom-end rot.
