Feed & EC · WITH DRIP

Why should borewell water be retested during a coir crop?

Water quality can change over time even when the source name stays the same.

THE COCOPEAT CONNECTION

Why the root zone matters

A coir nutrient programme based on old water data may no longer represent current inputs.

01 / OBSERVE

Three checks before you change anything

  1. Compare recent EC trends and laboratory analyses with the previous baseline.
  2. Note seasonal changes, pumping patterns and any source maintenance.
  3. Sample using the laboratory’s instructions from the water actually entering the system.

02 / NARROW IT DOWN

What triggered concern?

Choose the closest observation for a suggested next check.

EC trend changed

Confirm the trend and request analysis of the ions relevant to your crop.

Deposits increased

Include the observed scaling or clogging issue in the laboratory request.

No recent test exists

Establish a current baseline with your crop adviser.

03 / TAKE THE NEXT STEP

Leave with something useful

Set a testing schedule based on source variability and crop risk.

Keep in mind

Do not diagnose a particular salt from a change in conductivity alone.
