THE COCOPEAT CONNECTION

Why the root zone matters

Small sampling or instrument errors can produce misleading pH differences in coir extracts.

01 / OBSERVE

Three checks before you change anything

  1. Check the manufacturer's electrode-storage instructions
  2. Calibrate using appropriate fresh buffers
  3. Repeat the reading in a well-prepared sample

02 / NARROW IT DOWN

What happened recently?

Choose the closest observation for a suggested next check.

Electrode dried out

Follow its recovery or replacement guidance.

Buffers are old or contaminated

Replace expired or contaminated calibration buffers, then calibrate according to the meter instructions before testing again.

Only one sample behaves oddly

Repeat the extraction and inspect the sample procedure.

03 / TAKE THE NEXT STEP

Leave with something useful

Keep a meter-care record and compare repeat samples.

Keep in mind

Do not store every pH electrode in plain water; follow its specific instructions.
