How can mint be contained in coir production?

Plan for spreading stems and roots before they connect neighbouring containers. Keep propagation stock and harvest batches clearly separated.

THE COCOPEAT CONNECTION

Why the root zone matters

A coir container limits some root space but does not prevent stems from rooting beyond it.

01 / OBSERVE

Three checks before you change anything

  1. Inspect runners crossing container or bench boundaries.
  2. Check drain channels and adjacent pots for escaped roots.
  3. Review spacing and the cleaning interval between batches.

02 / NARROW IT DOWN

Where is spread occurring?

Choose the closest observation for a suggested next check.

Stems bridge containers

Separate and manage runners according to the crop plan before batches become entangled.

Roots enter drainage channels

Remove obstructions using the system maintenance procedure and review container placement.

Propagation stock mixes with production

Create clearly labelled stock and harvest areas.

03 / TAKE THE NEXT STEP

Leave with something useful

Inspect boundaries during every harvest and retain batch identity.

Keep in mind

Do not assume container-grown mint cannot spread outside its allotted area.
