THE COCOPEAT CONNECTION

Why the root zone matters

Mixing coir lots before inspection makes later quality questions harder to trace.

01 / OBSERVE

Three checks before you change anything

  1. Read the batch identifiers on pallets and individual packages.
  2. Record how much of each batch was received and where it is stored.
  3. Apply the agreed sampling plan to each relevant batch rather than sampling only the easiest pallet.

02 / NARROW IT DOWN

How will the material be used?

Choose the closest observation for a suggested next check.

Separate growing areas

Assign batch identities to each area in the production record.

Blended before filling

Record the contributing batches and their proportions in the blend record.

Labels are inconsistent

Ask the supplier to clarify the lot structure before consolidating the goods.

03 / TAKE THE NEXT STEP

Leave with something useful

Create a simple batch-location map for the warehouse and production area.

Keep in mind

Do not replace several original batch numbers with one informal nickname.
